3 Ways To Get Your Small Business Noticed

National Be Heard Day- small businesses be noticed with these 3 tips
Get your small business message out there

What is National Be Heard Day? Staring originally in the 1960s as Small Business observance week, in 2004 it became National Be Heard Day. It was started as a way for small businesses to get noticed. Supporting small businesses helps our economy flourish but in order to do that, we need to know they exist. All small business owners have a story to tell. And though you might fear speaking in public, as it’s the #1 fear in our country-not death, you can find ways to tell your story and be heard. Here are three ways:

1. Make your presence known online. Use social media to let others know about your small business. Take the opportunity to tell your story, like what gave you the idea to start your business, how you started, how you’ve grown, what goals you have, what you offer, how you help the community, etc. You can do this by recording short video clips, creating graphic posts, etc. Even tweets are a way to make yourself be heard.

2. Use a website to tell the world what you have to offer. Every small business should have a website. Even if it’s a simple landing page, an online presence in the form of a website is so important to make your voice heard. If you have a limited budget, that’s not a problem. You can take advantage of low website hosting costs and do-it-yourself website building platforms like Wix. Regardless of if you have a fancy website or a simple landing page you created yourself, your website is a great way to make yourself heard.

3. Use in-person opportunities to tell others about your small business. Depending on the nature of your business, your in-person marketing techniques to make yourself heard will vary. For some, it can be as simple as passing out business cards at every opportunity. Others will need to make in-person visits to potential clients to make themselves known. Whatever your approach needs to be, you can make yourself heard by telling others about your small business at any opportunity. So you should always be prepared and have written information you can give people with you at all times, whether that is on your person or in your vehicle. You never know when you’ll get the chance to let yourself be heard and you want to make sure you are prepared.

We hope these tips will help you. Let this National Be Heard Day be an opportunity for you to set goals for yourself to make your voice heard loud and clear and consistently.
